best moisturizer for extremely dry skin

a friend suggested this moisturizer after i complained again and again about my terribly dry skin. i had never paid this much for moisturizer before, but my skin appeared to be peeling (like from a sunburn), especially in the winter. i use this on my face, as well as my arms, and one bottle lasts about a year. it doesn't take much of this great stuff to moisturize extremely dry skin. if you just have a slight dryness problem, this product probably isn't for you.
Not enough or too much?

I have dry skin and this product was recommended but I found if I used it lightly it did not moisturize enough and if I put more on it left me feeling too greasy.
